My Everyday featuring ... Erin Loechner

[#1] Share with us a snippet of your story.
I'm a born midwesterner who moved to Los Angeles and married my husband shortly after graduating college. We worked endlessly hard in L.A. for 6 years, then moved back to the midwest to start our own family and enjoy a slower pace of life. We just welcomed our first child, Bee, last July, and whew! A new chapter indeed.

[#2] What is your favorite part of the day with your little one[s]?
I spend every morning with Bee, from 7ish - noon, and then I start my work for the day and my husband takes over. Our mornings together are a time of no distractions, no technology, no multi-tasking. It's just a pure and calming time and I love starting my day with a bit of peace (although not necessarily quiet!).

[#3] Name Instagram MOMS who inspire you.
@ohjoystudio / @amerrymishap / @kenziepoo

[#4] The chores are done, there's nothing expected of you & you've got 45 minutes of personal free time ... how would you spend it?
I'd spend the first 5 minutes scratching my head trying to figure out how I suddenly gained 45 minutes, and then I'd likely curl up on the couch with a good book (and undoubtedly fall asleep).

[#5] What are your staple go-to pieces from your closet this month?
To be totally honest? My bathrobe. I spend nearly every day at home in yoga pants and vintage, nursing-friendly tees, so I haven't given much thought to style this season. Function first, form eventually!

[#6] If you could give us a peek inside your home - what image would you share and why?
This is the sunroom we recently finished for HGTV.com. It gets the most glorious light and my husband and I love spending Bee's naptime cuddled on the sofa and recapping our days.

Bonus!
Share a photo you wouldn't typically post on Instagram but depicts real life happenings.
It doesn't get much more real than an overflowing sink of dirty dishes.

  1. I just discovered your blog via Erin, love it! She is an inspiring mom for sure...we were on a similar journey at the same time (except I had twins) so it's been a pleasure to follow along and relate.
