I would never have guessed my life as it is, if someone told me I would be a stay at home, homeschooling mom when I grew up I would have laughed pretty hard. I thought only women with hair to their hips and denim dresses to their ankles did that. I am so so grateful that I was exposed to families and parenting that we loved at just the right time in our lives to bring us to the decisions we have made today. I adore being a homemaker and homeschooling mom. My husband and I have been married almost 11 years and I adore him to pieces, we have two daughters, one of whom is adopted from Ethiopia. We have a quirky laid back way of life and I'm kinda a wanna be farmer. We have garden boxes and a chicken named Patty (who wears a leopard print chicken diaper when hanging out inside our house) and a dog that is more of a pig then a dog.... we have a turtle too that roams here and there as well. We build forts, love the Lord, thrift shop, drink too much coffee, love nature, laughing at ourselves and meeting up with friends.
[#2] What is your favorite part of the day with your little one[s]?
I am NOT a morning person, I never have been no matter how much I want to be. I wake up feeling, well, groggy is a understatement. My favorite part of the day with my kids is right when that yuck morning feeling wears off and I start feeling human and whole. That is when all my ideas and motivation kick in and my smiles are much more genuine. This is when I start school with the girls and throw in a pile of laundry! [#3] Name Three Instagram MOMS who inspire you.
Only three!? That's tough.... Instagram moms that Inspire me are @underthesycamore / agoldenafternoon / @jendydees
[#4] The chores are done, there's nothing expected of you and you've got 45 minutes of personal free time...how would you spend it?
I read! Reading is pretty much a constant love of mine. You would most likely find me reading a classic book, currently reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, biographies or a theology book of some sort. I do read books on parenting, wife roles and homeschooling as well, but the bulk of my readings is the three I mentioned prior. I hated reading when I was growing up and a student through high school, but once I attended bible college I fell in love with reading and learning. I find that reading for me, is time well spent. It slows me down, in a good way, to thoroughly take time and develop thoughts and opinions about that which I'm reading. I love how it helps my mind stay fresh and inquisitive and I find I can hold my train of thought better through out the day when I'm reading.... everything in media is so fast and colorful and normally shallow, I find a pace and depth to reading that I just cant get out of any movie or tv show. But don't get me wrong.... I love a good movie :)
[#5] What are your staple go-to pieces from your closet this month?
The staple pieces in my closet this month is a pair of rolled up skinnies and my wooden floral wedges :)
[#6] If you could give us a peek inside your home - what image would you share and why?
If I gave you peek inside my home it would be my living room. Our house is tiny, we don't have a dining room or table so MUCH of our life happens right here on our coffee table. Its were we eat, do school at times, watch a movie on our laptop, color, its not uncommon to find our dog laying on it (Betty, yes, we let her get on it) and the kids have danced on it. I love our laid back household... and our fun little living room that is well lived in. :)
[#7] Share a photo you wouldn't typically post on Instagram but depicts real life happenings.
This image that I would not normally post on Instagram....... I would not post this picture for so many reasons. Its blurry, busy, my toe is photo bombing and its down right crazy. I snagged this picture super quick and then turned to my husband and said "we have a weird family!" and we just laughed. My chicken in my lap, dog on the coffee table, my daughter had just crawled out with that cute/creepy mask and my other daughter just kinda stuck in the mix. It felt like a circus at the moment and yet not unusual at all.
